This Privacy Policy only applies to AlumniJunction.com. It does not apply to the practices of any other websites, companies or people. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information that is collected on AlumniJunction.com about you as a user of the AlumniJunction.com website (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the terms of the AlumniJunction.com Terms of Service.
Each time you use the Site, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by the Terms of Service, which incorporate this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy, you must discontinue using the services on the Site and terminate your membership. |

How We Collect and Use Your Information |

When you sign up. When you sign up for Alumni Junction you will be required to provide us with your name, email, gender, birth date, create a password and affiliate yourself with a school, college or university . Although most of this information will not be viewable by other members, once you are signed up your name, alumni groups and years associated with those alumni groups will be displayed on the Site and you will no longer be anonymous to us or to other individuals who access the Site. In addition, because this information is publicly displayed on the Site, it may be included in the Site "search" tools. Once you register you can provide other information about yourself , and you will have the ability to keep certain information private from other members such as contact information, your gender and your birth date. |

When you add personal information to your profile. All information that you add to your profile is publicly viewable and may be included in the Site "search" tools. For this reason, please do not add any information that you may not want to be viewed by other users of the site. At Alumni Junction we do allow users to post their personal contact information. However, to protect the privacy of our members, we do offer users the choice to keep some or all personal contact information private. We also offer the same optional privacy tool for birth dates and gender information. As provided in our Terms of Service, AlumniJunction.com may use the information you provide in your profile in a variety of Alumni Junction products and features. |

Use of school discussions, message walls, school reunion posts, news/event posts and anouncement posts. All Information and content submitted to school discussions, message walls, school reunions, school news/events, school announcements and other public forums on the Site are displayed publicly. Please take care in deciding what information and content you wish to disclose to other members. This information will publicly displayed on the Site and may be included in the Site "search" tool. We reserve the right to read any messages or posts if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service. Because of the interactive nature of these forums, in some cases you will not be able to remove or revise the information or content that you submit in these areas of the Site and such information or content may remain on the Site even if your membership is terminated. |

Sending of private messages between members. We have developed a private messaging facility which uses a "double-blind" e-mail system, which hides the email addresses to protect the privacy of both the sender and receiver. When using the messaging facility, it is up to you to choose when you are comfortable disclosing your e-mail address, or any other contact information, to others within the messages you send. We respect the privacy of member messages sent through this system and we do not read or disclose any messages or information unless we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service. You will not be able to delete, revise or otherwise recover any message that you send through this messaging facility once it has been sent. |

Use of the "invite a friend" facility. If you choose to use any of our invite a friend services for informing friends about the Site or any portion thereof, you will be asked to provide your friends' email address. Once we have run the email address through a verification process we will then send your friends a one-time e-mail. Once this email has been sent you will have the ability to send a reminder email if you so choose. Every invite email you send to your friends, inviting them to visit the Site, will include your name.
We offer contact importer tools to help you upload your friends’ addresses so that you can find your friends on Alumni Junction, and invite your contacts who are not members of Alumni Junction. If you give us your password to retrieve those contacts, we will not store your password after you have uploaded your contacts’ information. |

When you contact us. We may keep a record of any correspondence you send to us via phone, email or letter. Therefore, if you report an issue with the Site, we may collect and/or record such information in a file or database specific to you. If you contact us through our member support facility, we will collect your name and email address in order to send you a reply. If other members or third parties send us correspondence regarding any of your activities or postings on the Site, we may keep and/or record the information in a file or database specific to you. |

Site activity, browser and devise information. When you access Alumni Junction from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location, and IP address, as well as the pages you visit. We may use this information to analyze trends, administer the Site, track user movement and detect fraud or other types of abuse. We may associate this information with Your Information to resolve technical issues, support security for our users, and take action on any activity that may violate this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service. |

Use of cookie information. We use "cookies" (small pieces of data we store for an extended period of time on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) to enhance and personalize your experience on the Site, to make our advertising better, and to protect both you and Alumni Junction. We use them to store your login ID (but never your password) to help authenticate you and make it easier for you to login whenever you come back to Alumni Junction. We also use them to confirm that you are logged into Alumni Junction.. You can remove or block cookies using the settings in your browser, but in most cases that will impact your ability to use Alumni Junction. |

Sharing Informtion |

Name and profile photo. Alumni Junction has been created and designed to make it easy for you to find and connect and network with other alumni and members. Because of this, your name and profile picture will be viewable by all users of the Site. If you are uncomfortable with sharing your profile picture, you should delete it or not add one. |

Contact information. You have full control on what contact information, such as your email and phone number(s), can be viewed by members. None of this information is required except for your email address, and you do not have to share your email address with anyone using the Site. |

Posts by you. With the exception of private messaging, any content you post and/or photo you upload to the Site can be viewed by all users of the Site. |

Gender and birth date. In addition to name and email address, we require you to provide your gender and birth date during the registration process. We ask for your date of birth to verify that you are 18 or older, Because your date of birth and gender are required, you cannot delete them. You can, however, edit your profile to hide all (or part) of such fields from other users. |

Confidentiality. Alumni Junction will only share your information with others when we have your permission or under the types of circumstances described in this Privacy Policy. We limit access to your information to only those who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or to do their jobs. |

Third Party Offers. We allow other companies, such as our marketing partners and companies that are affiliated with Alumni Junction to offer their products and services to you, or to communicate with you about their products and services at a future date, through the Site or email. Whether or not you decide to participate in such an offer is up to you. If you purchase a product or service from a third party or agree to allow a third party to communicate with you in the future through an offer on the Site, any of which requires you to submit financial and/or personally identifiable information, you are also consenting to our delivery of this information to that party. The offer will notify you if any financial or personally identifiable information will be shared. Such third party will be authorized to use this information in accordance with their own privacy policy and information practices. We do not control these third parties and you agree that Alumni Junction is not liable for their acts or any failure to act on their part. |

Third Party Advertising. Advertisements on the Site link directly to third party websites. Alumni Junction has no control over the content or privacy policies of such websites. We do share certain aggregate information, such as the number of times that our members have viewed or clicked on an advertisement, with our third party advertisers. This information is not linked with any personally identifiable information. Alumni Junction does not provide any of Your Information to any advertisers or any third party with the exception of those uses expressly disclosed in this policy. |

Service Providers. We may sometimes use a third party to provide specific services on our behalf, including sending e-mails to our members, conducting member surveys, processing transactions, providing all or a portion of an underlying product or service on our behalf, or performing statistical analysis of our services or data. In these cases, we may provide your information to these third party service providers as needed for the service to be provided. However, these parties are required to maintain the confidentiality of this information and are prohibited from retaining, sharing, storing or using this information for any other purposes. |

Affiliates and Business Transitions. We may share your information with our affiliates that are subject to privacy policies that protect your personally identifiable information from disclosure to other third parties in a manner similar to this Privacy Policy. In the event that Alumni Junction goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition, liquidation or sale of all or a portion of its assets, our members' personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Legal Matters, Protection of Rights, Property and Interests, Safety. We may, without your consent, access and disclose your information, any messages sent or received by you, and any other information that we may have about you or your account: as may be permitted or required by law, regulation, rule or court order; pursuant to requests from governmental, regulatory or administrative agencies or law enforcement authorities; or to prevent, investigate, identify persons or organizations potentially involved in, or take any action regarding suspected fraud, violations of our Terms of Service, or activity that appears to us to be illegal or may expose us to legal liability. Additionally, we may disclose your information in situations that we believe to be emergencies involving potential threats to the physical safety or any person or property if we believe that Your Information in any way relates to that threat. |

Display of Information on Third Party Websites and Devices. Depending upon a search engine's indexing practices, any of your information that is publicly available and displayed on the Site may appear in the results of searches conducted on Internet search engines while you are a member of the Site, and potentially for some time period after your membership is terminated. Some or all of this same information may also be displayed in the results of searches on third party websites that provide people search and other similar services in order to make it easier for people to find you on Alumni Junction. If you do not wish to have your information displayed on these search engines or other third party websites, you can opt out by removing your account from the Site. Alumni Junction may create applications or other tools for use on various third party websites such as Facebook and Twitter, and devices such as the iPhone and blackberry. Portions of the information that is publicly displayed on the Site may be shown to the users of those websites and devices. |

Please Remember. Even after you delete your account, copies of that information may remain viewable elsewhere to the extent it has been shared with others. You also understand that information might be reshared or copied by other users and any messages you send to other users cannot be removed. |

Changing and Removing Your Information |

Alumni Junction provides you with ways in which you can update your information. You may change or remove information from your profile at any time by going to your profile page and clicking Edit My Profile. Any changes you make to your information will be updated immediately. You can delete any email addresses of friends you have invited to join Alumni Junction on your invite history page. If you want to stop using your account you may deactivate it or delete it. When you deactivate an account, no user will be able to see it, but it will not be deleted. We save your profile information (connections, photos, etc.) in case you later decide to reactivate your account. Many users deactivate their accounts for temporary reasons and in doing so are asking us to maintain their information until they return to the Site. You will still have the ability to reactivate your account and restore your profile in its entirety. Even after you remove information from your profile or delete your account, copies of that information may remain viewable elsewhere to the extent it has been shared with others, or it was copied or stored by other users. We may retain certain information to prevent identity theft and other misconduct. |

Alumni Junction have implemented physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to store and maintain your information in a secure environment. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password, to emails which we may send you, and to your computer. You take full responsibility for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Internet security technology changes rapidly, therefore we cannot guarantee that the safeguards we have in place today can protect your information from future threats. You should also be aware that despite our efforts, factors beyond our control may result in disclosure of your information. Accordingly, we are not in a position to guarantee that your information will be secure under all circumstances. |

Privacy of Minors |

Minors (those under 18) are not eligible to use our service and we ask that minors not submit any personal information to us or use the service. We will not knowingly allow minors to become members. If we later learn that a minor is a member, then that minor's membership will be terminated. |

Updates and Notifications From Alumni Junction |

Members of Alumni Junction will receive our customary update and notification emails. For example emails facilitating, completing or confirming your registration, upgrade or other transaction, emails informing you of new or updated products or features on the Site, emails notifying you of member-to-member communications or other member activity relating to your membership, or other administrative emails. We will send "welcome" messages that are informational and provide useful details about your membership or product usage instructions when you sign up as a member on AlumniJunction.com. We may send you emails regarding special offers or other promotional material for our products or services or those of our affiliated companies or advertisers. We may send all of these emails to the primary email address that you provide to us or to you through the Messaging facility on the Site. You have full control as to which notification and update emails you wish to receive from Alumni Junction. To change your email preferences simply go to your Email Settings within your account. Any changes you make will be updated immediately. |
